New floor plan, decor and advertising signal refreshment

Orlando, Fla. (August 15, 2007)SHERMAN, Texas (August 1, 2007) The most recent Red Lobster restaurant in the country is one of the first to show off the latest, fresh restaurant design concept that the brand plans to use in future new restaurants nationwide. The innovative design is part of the biggest makeover the iconic brand has undertaken, and also includes a new advertising campaign, expanded fresh fish menu and new entrees. 

Opening this week, Metroplex residents will see a new restaurant with more natural looking decor, warmer lighting, colors and wood tones inside. According to Kim Lopdrup, president of Red Lobster, “The inspiration for the redesign came from Bar Harbor, Maine, and blends a more sophisticated ambience with the casual feeling of a seaside restaurant.” As part of the redesign, there is increased seating which will allow the restaurant greater flexibility to seat large parties who often come to Red Lobster for celebrations, while still offering a more intimate setting for smaller parties.

The newest Red Lobster is located at 3600 N. US Highway 75. It replaces a Red Lobster restaurant in Sherman formerly located at 4900 Texoma Parkway.

In addition to the new look, Red Lobster has updated its dinner and lunch menus and has added special touches like sea salt and peppercorn grinders on every table. The company is also in the process of introducing new silverware and plateware nationwide.   

A new advertising campaign began airing nationally last week that focuses on freshness and culinary expertise. The first spots in the campaign highlight Red Lobster’s daily fresh fish menu, featuring grilled fresh red snapper, fresh blackened tilapia and fresh pan seared rainbow trout. In addition to the creative, a new tagline, “Come See What’s Fresh Today,” was introduced.

As a complement to recent changes, Red Lobster has re-launched its web site (, which now includes such features as a chef’s blog, a virtual fresh fish cookbook and extensive information regarding seafood and health.
