Fresh Seafood, Healthy Dining Options & Traditional Favorites Top the Menu

Orlando, Fla. (January 29, 2007) — On Monday, January 29, Red Lobster will unveil its first restaurant in Gilbert, offering a menu of fresh fish, live Maine lobsters and traditional Red Lobster favorites.

Located at 3845 S. Gilbert Road, the 7,222 square-foot restaurant seats 224.  Employing approximately 175 crew members, the Gilbert Red Lobster will begin serving at 4 p.m. the first week.  Beginning February 5, guests can enjoy lunch beginning at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and dinner all day long. 

“We are proud to be a new neighbor in the Gilbert area.  Our enthusiastic crew looks forward to serving guests the freshest seafood in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere,” said Tony Jackson, general manager for the new Gilbert restaurant.

Fresh Seafood on the Menu

The Gilbert restaurant opens just as Red Lobster unveils an expanded fresh fish program.  In addition to favorites such as salmon, trout and tilapia, up to eight species of fresh fish flown in from around the world will be featured on the menu.  The fish selection will change daily, based on local customer preferences and availability.  Guests can choose to have their fresh fish grilled and lightly seasoned, broiled and lightly seasoned, blackened with Cajun spices or grilled with a new sweet and spicy glaze.

The Gilbert restaurant, like all 680 Red Lobster restaurants across North America, will print a new Today’s Fresh Fish sheet every day, listing the day’s unique offerings.  The sheets are placed in a leatherette binder and presented tableside to guests.  In addition to fresh fish, Gilbert guests can enjoy other flavorful seafood dishes including shrimp, scallops and crab, accompanied by Cheddar Bay Biscuits that are baked fresh every 15 minutes.

LightHouse Menu

For the many health-conscious Americans who seek foods low in fat, calories or carbohydrates, the Gilbert restaurant offers Red Lobster’s “LightHouse Menu,” providing guests with nutritional information for more than 30 of the most popular items – including numerous entrées, accompaniments, side dishes, dipping sauces and beverages – with the caloric, carbohydrate and fat content for each.

Nutritionists advise consumers to eat more seafood since it is such a healthy protein.  In fact, the American Heart Association recommends people eat seafood, with its heart-protecting Omega-3 fatty acids, at least twice a week.
